Pfrang Events

The Pfrang Association organises several events throughout the year to raise money to support the education of children in Jiangsu Province.

The Pfrang Gala usually takes place in April at Nanjing International School (NIS) and is a semi-formal evening of live music, dinner and dancing. The buffet is provided by Skyways, while the free-flowing German beer is courtesy of Hofbraeuhaus (Jiangyin).
During the evening, guests have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a range of valuable prizes and to participate in an auction for all sorts of goods and activities.

Pfrang Day

Pfrang Day is an all-day sports event during September. Throughout the day adults and children can participate in a range of sports including football, badminton, basketball, tennis and cricket. Younger children can play on the bouncy castle, have their faces painted or play games. Once the sporting activities wind down, the music begins.
During the evening, there is a barbecue, again provided by Skyways, live music and dancing in the NIS courtyard.

Art Auction

The annual art auction at NIS features a range of art work created by students, teachers and parents. These pieces are donated and are auctioned throughout the evening to the highest bidder.
The art auction is organized and run by the student council of Nanjing International School.

The Giving Tree

In December, the Giving Tree is erected in the Nanjing International School foyer. The names of the Pfrang students adorn the tree and the school community is asked to buy a gift bag for the student whose name they pick from the tree; the bags decorate the tree until they are delivered to the children around spring festival.

The Nanjing World Cup

The Nanjing World Cup is a Nanjing international community event held annually at Nanjing International School. The football tournament is not open to competitive teams but national teams that are loosely formed for the event from the Nanjing community.

Any similarities with the FIFA World Cup are purely coincidental and should be carefully remembered by all players as matches are undertaken.

The Nanjing World Cup is intended as a fund raising event to benefit Nanjing charity organizations like the Pfrang Association. The Nanjing World Cup is organized by Golden Balls Football Club, a gentlemen’s football club.
